The ‘Fingerguard’ is a safety device, incorporating a needle remover notch.
The 125mm Fingerguard is coupled with a Locking Ring (colour white). To fit the Fingerguard to the lid of the sharps container, firstly unscrew the Locking Ring from the Fingerguard. Next, insert the Fingerguard into the 125mm circular opening in the lid of the sharps container. Lastly, screw the Locking Ring onto the thread of the Fingerguard. The Fingerguard is now securely attached to the lid of the sharps container. The lid can now be click-fitted to the base of the sharps container; making the sharps container ready to use.
The Fingerguard is shaped like a funnel & has a number of separated ‘flexible fronds’. As the name ‘Fingerguard’ implies, these fronds are designed to perform as a barrier & to protect the hand & fingers from coming into contact with sharps waste, which has previously been deposited into the sharps container. A centered opening allows easy access into the sharps container for disposal of smaller sharps waste items. The fronds will also expand inward to facilitate the disposal of bulkier waste items.
The 125mm Fingerguard fits these sharps containers: RE4LR (4.75 litre round), RE10LS (12.5 litre square), RE15LS (17.5 litre square), RE20LR (23 litre round) & VC24LR (optional – standard fit is 125mm Plain Guard)
